The seniors football team at Hurstbridge Football Netball Club is known for their bravery and courage when playing. They have managed to win 9 senior premierships since the club was founded in 1914.
Club History
Hurstbridge Football Club is an Australian rules football club located in the outer northern Melbourne suburb of Hurstbridge. The club is affiliated with the Northern Football League.
1935
Senior Men's team won the Premiership.
1987
The P.H.F.L dissolved at the end of the 1987 Season. Hurstbridge enjoyed considerable success in the PHFL winning seven premierships.
1948
Senior Men's team won the Premiership.
1952
Senior Men's team won the Premiership.
1962
Senior Men's team won the Premiership.
1965
Senior Men's team won the Premiership.
1968
Senior Men's team won the Premiership.
1970
Senior Men's team won the Premiership.
2004
Promotion to the highly competitive First Division in 2004 saw the Club failing to win a match.
2009
2009 was grading year for Division Two sides in the NFL, with those that finished in the bottom half of Division 2 moved to a new Division 3 competition. Hurstbridge was one of the relegated sides. The winner of the 2009 Grand Final still remained in 3rd division.
In 2009 the Bridges faced off Parkside in the Grand Final and unfortunately came off second best, however on the same day the Reserves coached by Paul Holzer were successful in premiership glory.
2005
Hurstbridge was relegated back to Second Division for 2005.
2003
In 2003 Hurstbridge broke a long drought winning the D.V.F.L Second Division Premiership defeating Lalor.
2010
The Grand Final winner of 2009 still remained in the 3rd division for 2010 and from 2010 onwards whoever wins the flag is moved back up to Division 2.
2010 saw the seniors grand final rematch v Parkside, and 2nd time around the Bridges got it right and have been moved back to Division 2 for the 2011 season and beyond!
