Club History
We would like to thank all of our volunteers for helping run our netball club in recent seasons including Leadership group and coaches made up of Kendra Vann, Bec Rhyder, Lisa McBain, Kylie Christian, Chelsea Clapton, Tamasin Krakouer, Judi Penn, Yvette Davidson and Amy Fisher.
2009
Hurstbridge first entered a netball team in the Northern Football Netball League in 2009 when the league had 2 netball sections and was in it's second year. We played in section 2 finishing 5th on the ladder and producing dual league Best & Fairest in Tegan Pohl and Hannah Richards with 8 votes each.
2010
We entered a team in section 3 finishing 6th on the ladder. Tegan Pohl again took out the league Best & Fairest with 15 votes.
2012
After not entering a team in 2011, we returned in 2012 with a group of enthusiastic, talented young women led by the familiar trio of Emma Thomas, Amy Fisher and Tamika Dean all still playing for HFNC today (Summer 2024).
2012 saw us win our first netball premiership in Section 5, defeating the minor premiers Heidelberg 36-13.
We also picked up a league Best and Fairest in Shae Audley with 19 votes.
2013
Played in Section 5 and finished 5th on the ladder
2014
Team 1 took out the premiership in section 6 defeating Fitzroy Stars 31 - 14 with Kendra Vann receiving the best on court medal for the grand final and Shae Audley picking up her second league best and fairest award.
Team 2 played in section 7 finishing the season in 8th position.
2015
We entered 3 teams with Team 1 becoming Premiers in section 5 defeating, North Heidelberg 24 -17 and Millie Barden receiving the best on court accolades in the Grand final.
Team 2 also played in section 5 finishing 3rd on the ladder but having to meet team 1 in the preliminary final only going down by 1 point 18-19.
Team 3 finished 5th on ladder in section 9.
Emma Thomas won the section 5 league medal with 23 votes closely followed by Kendra Vann with 21 votes
2015-2016
Summer season – HFNC entered 2 teams in summer season finishing 3rd and 4th on the ladder in section 2, both teams played off in the grand final, with team 1 claiming the premiership over team 2 by 28 points, 39-11.
Jodie Beech (team 2) was named best on court.
Kendra Vann (team 1) received the Best and Fairest award for the season with a total of 14 votes.
2016-2017
Summer Season - We had 1 team represent us for the summer season playing in section 1 finishing the season in 6th position.
2016
Long time Hurstbridge player Lauren Hobbs took on the coaching duties due to pregnancy and Sue Simpson took over the Netball coordinator roll from Paula Knight.
Team 1 played in Section 4 finishing 5th on the ladder.
Team 2 played in section 6 finishing 5th as well.
Team 3 played in section 9 finishing 7th.
Jessica Dao was named the league best & fairest in Section 4 with a total of 20 votes.
2017
Team 1 played section 6 winning the premiership over Thomastown 2 35-20 with Sarah Gilbert being named best on court.
Team 2 played in section 8 finishing 7th on the ladder and team 3, in section 10 finished the season 5th
2018
Coached by Glen Williams Hurstbridge enjoyed a very successful year with team 1 playing in section 6 and winning the premiership against Laurimar 2 by 1 goal (30-29) with Amy Fisher being name best on court.
Team 2 played section 9 and finished on top of the ladder also winning the premiership over West Ivanhoe 3 20-18.
Emma Thomas was awarded the best on court medal.
Hurstbridge 3 coached by Kendra Vann, played in section 11 finishing 2nd on the ladder and eventually going down to Mernda 2 in the grand final 18-29
2017-2018
Summer Season – Team 1 played section 2 finishing 4th on ladder and winning their way through to the grand final coming out premiers over Greensborough by 1 goal 21-20.
Jessica Bamblett took out the best on court award.
Team 2 played in section 3 finishing 3rd on the ladder and also going on to win the premiership over Heat 3 by 6 goals 26-20, with Amy Fisher being named best on court.
2018-2019
Summer Season – Team 1 played in section 3 finishing runners up to Montmorency 38 - 23 with Kylie Christian winning the BFBL best & fairest award with 10 votes.
Team 2 played section 5 finishing 4th on the ladder.
2019
Team 1 section 4 finished 3rd on the ladder.
Team 2 section 7 finished 4th on the ladder.
Team 3 section 10 finished 6th on the ladder.
Team 4 section 11 finished 5th.
2019-2020
Summer Season – Started out with 1 team in section 3 before the season was abandoned after 9 games due to covid.
2020
No season due to covid
2020-2021
Summer Season – Team 1 Section 4 finished 5th Kendra Vann winning the league B&F with 18 votes
2021
Team 1 section 5 finished 3rd.
Team 2 section 8 finished 6th.
Team 3 section 12 finished 5th
2021-2022
Summer Season – Team 1 section 2 finished 6th
2022-2023
Summer Season Team 1 section 3 finished 7th, Team 2 section 5 finished 4th going down to Thomastown 3 in the 1st semi final (23-19) Team 3 in section 6 finished 7th.
2023-2024 Summer Season
Team 1 division 2 finished 7th
Team 2 division 4 finished 10th
Team 3 division 5 finished 9th
Team 4 division 7 finished 8th
Team 5 division 6 finished second on the ladder going on to take out the premiership by defeating Watsonia 3 21-19 in a nail-biting overtime win. Tara Wright again taking out the league Best and Fairest award with 15 votes.
Team 6 division 9 finished 8th
Team 7 division 11 came runners up to Bundoora 11 17 -24 in their first season of open age netball. Chloe Hicks won the league B&F with 12 votes and the league goal shooting award with 157 goals. Imogen Haslam came 2nd in the league award with 11 votes and Mietta Floyd came third with 9 votes.

2022
Team 1 section 3 finished 4th losing the preliminary final to Heat 2 (29-23).
Team 2 section 7 finished 4th losing the 1st semi to Monty 4 (24-22).
Team 3 in section 11 finished 7th.
2023
By far our biggest season so far with 6 teams entered in the competition, our highest grading in our NFNL history and some fanstastic individual results.
Team 1 Section 2 After finishing the season on top of the ladder were eventual runners up to Bundoora 2 (31-22). Casey Lashford took out the NFNL B&F 18 votes and Kendra Vann coming a close 2nd with 16 votes from only 9 games before a season ending knee injury whilst playing for the NFNL in the representative tournament.
Team 2 Section 4 finished 8th.
Team 3 section 7 finished 5th with Christie Moore winning the NFNL B&F with 15 votes.
Team 4 section 9 finished 8th. Team 5 section 10 won the premiership over Heat 8 (29-12) with Tara Wright being named best on court as well as taking out the league B&F with 20 votes.
Team 6 Section 12 finished 2nd on the ladder and came runners up against Whittlesea 3 (34 - 21). Arielle Earps took out the NFNL B&F with 20 votes. Needless to say we had a great night at the League vote count held at Marvel Stadium.
2024 Winter Season
In Winter Season 2024 we welcome new Head Coach, Rachel Slattery and Assistant Coach Melissa Drakes to HFNC. With a history making 8 teams entered for the Winter Season we are looking forward to many on court successes.
Please join us on our Annual Past Players Day with our Netball Team of the Decade to be presented on Saturday 22nd June from 1pm at Ben Frilay Oval. We would love to see a massive number of past and present players and members at the club on the day - book via EFT Bank transfer of $20pp to account:
